This sea salt is hand-harvested from the Natural Reserve Ria Formosa in the Algarve, Portugal. Dried by wind and sun this area is known for its high quality natural unprocessed salt produced in salt basins using the same methods since Roman times. The sea here is naturally clear and the salt bed is really hard so it does not take on the earthy grey colour from the basin. There is no industry in the salt harvesting areas and with sun for 250 days of the year the process is completely natural. Most of the minerals are retained in the salt crystals.
No additives, bleaching or anti-caking agents.
Certified by Nature et Progress to be free from hard metals, contaminants, pesticides and radioactivity.
